Search Engine is a huge Book consisting pages of a count that is unreachable. These page sin this book are websites or you can say URLs that are indexed by Search Engine worldwide. Your website after getting indexed in Google(Search Engine) is added as a Page in Google Book.
Now a user comes and searches for a query. An answer to user’s query is Google’s responsibility to give. All Google can do is find an answer for user’s query in its Book pages. The page which is the best answer to the query is displayed to the user.
Let’s take an example if a user is searching for “SEO Off-Page activities” and I have written a Blog Post on “14 Off-page SEO activities for Link Building”. This is indexed in Google, that is Google knows about it and Google has added my Blog Post as a Page in its Book.
Now As I have written off-page activities, my blog post can be an answer to user’s query.
But I am not the only one who can be the answer to this query. There are a lot of other pages in Google’s Book (other blog posts on same). These other pages are my competitors.

As you can see in below image all the on page parameters are shown, I am going to explain one by one:
You must have heard of Title, now what is this Meta Title? Meta is HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) tag that is used to set or indicate a Title for a page.
Meta Title plays a very important role, when you search for a query in Google, you get results. What you see first thing in results in Meta Title of the Page. Meta Title of the page describes the whole content of the page. Title explains the importance of Page. What this page is about, what demand of user it is going to fulfill is displayed in short.
When a user sees your result, the user gets to know what you are going to give inside your page by your Meta Title.
Meta Title should be of 65 characters with spaces, as the title more than 65 characters get trimmed by Google. Google has a fixed area to display your page’s Meta Title.
Now If I want my blog post to be displayed on a query of SEO off page activities and I am using On Page activities in my Meta Title, what you think will I be able to become the best answer to the query. No, Never.
I will have to include the reality “Off Page Activities” in my post’s meta title to become relevant to query.

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. Resource Locator, the resource is information you are providing in the page that is located at an address on the web. This address is URL of the information you are providing.
As Meta Tiles explain your page’s information, in same manner URL also display what information is on the page.
The second thing that is displayed after Meta Title in Search Engine Results is URL of the page. URLs can be many phases as per the categories, tags, date, services or from the main root domain.

URL should be small, not so bigger ones. Character limit for URL is 80 Characters as after this it gets trimmed by Google.

The third thing you see followed by Meta Title and URL is Meta Description. Meta is same the HTML tag used to set a description for a page. A description is a explained version of Meta Title and summary version for a page.
Meat Description describes the Meta Tile in detail and summarizes the Page Content in brief. You must have seen, when you search for a query in Google the results displayed has those query keywords in Description. Keywords you search are being bolded by Google in a description. It simply indicates that Google searches for the keywords in your description too.

Note: Again as it is also displayed in Google Search Engine Results, so it must also having some character limit. Yes, it has of approx. 150 characters.
Now you reach the content on web page. The content of the page that needs to fulfill the users demand as asked in a query. Every content starts with the main Heading. The whole page is about what is now explained in short in the main Heading. We need to optimize this Main Heading for the Page. The heading is the main part so it also plays important role in On Page Optimization.
Heading tags used in HTML are as follows:
H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6
Each heading has its own importance. It’s the same as we use to write an essay with proper Heading one by one to structure our Essay in a good manner and make it readable and a user can understand what comes under what.
Here we optimize our website for Search Engine’s. SEO is done to make our website Search Engine compatible. If it is not Search Engine Compatible, it won’t appear in Search Engine. There are several factors to work on in SEO. Factors of SEO are explained below

Note: Heading need to made structurally. Make the proper structure of Headings. Use one H1 heading, as you can have only one head in your body. Having multiple H1 distributes the importance of H1 with other H1 tags. One H1 will have 100% power of being Head. Use a keyword in Heading, as it is also the main element of a Page.
Using images in web pages, to attract visitors. Why not optimizing these images for SEO? Yes, we can optimize images too. We all know Images are not read by Search Engine. If an image is not read by then what it reads instead of Image, that’s the ALT tag of the image.
ALT tag stands for Alternative, ye alternative of the image, we use some alternative of the image in text form. Text can include your keywords.
What is the use of ALT tags? As the name says, it’s alternative for the image. If in case Image does not load in the browser, Google displays its ALT text in place of Image. ALT tag explains that what the image was for.
Note: Optimize all the images by adding ALT tags to them. Use keywords in ALT tags of images properly.

A keyword can be a word, phrase, sentence, question or anything, that user is reaching for a result. Keyword important for you is, on which you are giving an answer to the user. If I wrote a blog post on “How to do Social Bookmarking Step by Step”, it’s an answer to queries or keywords like as:
Now if my blog post is an answer to these queries then, an answer should talk about these queries. No answer is correct if it is not for asked question. If a query is “social bookmarking” and my blog post content does not have any mention of “social bookmarking” keyword, it’s not an answer to the particular keyword.
There should be proper use and mentions of “social bookmarking” in page content.
It does not indicate that you only write “Social Bookmarking” plenty of time in content to make it relevant.
Here comes the term Keyword density. Density stands for quality of something in something.
My blog post on Social Bookmarking is of approx. 1200 words and keyword “social bookmarking” is 23 times
Keyword Density => (23 / 1200) * 100 = 1.9%
Keep keyword density in between 1.5% – 2.5%. Do not over optimize the keyword density.
A link is to make connections between two things. In web world, you can link 2 links in between. Internal Linking refers to linking internal pages of the website to each other. Linking to another page can be done with proper anchor text. Anchor text is text on which we target the other to be linked. Anchor text tells about the link, for what it is.
I have internally linked, off page blog post with anchor text “How to do Social Bookmarking Step by Step”. This indicates that URL linked in this text is something about – How to do social bookmarking?
Anchor text for linking should be relevant to the page you are linking internally.
How to make best anchor text?
Imagine you don’t have any content on the page other than Anchor text, now if that anchor text can justify your targeted link, it’s awesome.
If your website has pages in categories or locations. Try to link the inner pages as per categories or location pages or any other parameters you are using. If you use Geo-targeting in your website. You have different pages for different countries, then inner pages for different countries.
